This is the last week to enter for free garden seeds. I know southern folks are already planting, so I’m sorry if this comes a bit late for you.
This week’s winners are:
- Tabitha
- Azael Luna
- Beth Christiansen
At the top of this post is one of the sets of seeds. The other sets are similar. If the winners only have a small garden and don’t think they can use all the seeds or find someone to share them with, please let me know and I will pass them along to someone else. Some thing if there’s a vegetable you know you won’t use. Let me know and I’ll find it a different home.
I’ll be emailing the winners directly today. Please email me your mailing address by 2/17/2012, and I’ll get your seeds in the mail ASAP.
Garden Seed Giveaway – Final Round – Contest is Closed – Thanks to Everyone who Entered
To enter: Leave a comment below telling me you’d like to be entered. If you want to share a bit about your garden, that would be great, too!
In round one I had everyone post a link to this site somewhere online. If you’d like to do that again, I’d appreciate it, but if you’ve already linked, don’t feel obligated to link again unless you want to. One entry per person, please.
See the original giveaway here to learn more about these seeds.
Contest starts 2/14/2012 and I’ll be accepting entries until midnight 2/20/2012. I will announce the winners on this site and on Facebook on 2/21/2012.
Three (3) winners will receive an assortment of seeds, including:
- corn
- bush beans
- carrots
- tomatoes
- radishes
- cooking greens
- salad greens
- pumpkins or winter squash
- summer squash
- flowers
- and a few other odds and ends, like okra, root veggies and brassicas
In the interest of not having my tail busted by some government agent who has nothing better to do, here are the more detailed “Official Rules’.
“NO PURCHASE NECESSARY”
Must be 18 or older to enter, continental U.S. residents only (I have to pay for shipping)
The seeds would have been worth in excess of $50, but were on their way out the door. You can decide what they’re worth to you.
The number of eligible entries received determines the odds of winning. After all entries are received, I’ll use random.org to pick the winners.
Selected winners have until 2/17/2012 to claim their seeds, otherwise I’ll draw more names. I assume no liability if the seeds don’t grow, although I’d be happy to share planting tips.

We have a small organic garden to help feed our little homesteading family. These seeds will be very appreciated. Thank you, Robert and Daniela Day, four small kids and Grandmomma!!
We will be planting a garden soon on our new homestead, we want to plant all kinds of fruits and vegetables, we want to be able to grow and raise our own food to get away from store bought foods. we want to be able to get started on canning, and drying foods for winter and spring until we can grow more food later to. The seeds would really come in handy for our homestead garden. Yes I will put your link in other forums and websites to regardless. Love in Christ Deanna Armenta and Family
I would LOVE to win some seeds. I’m ready for the gardening season to begin. I know it’s a lot of work, but it sure is fun when it’s harvest time.
One, I laughed at your “official rules” crack!
Thanks for the chuckle this morning!!
Two, enter me in please! I’d love to have some of these. Just starting to container garden this year and apparently I’ve volunteered to help out the rest of my family doing this….though for some reason volunteering to help the family out with seeds, completely slipped my mind. lol
We would love to have another chance to win! thanks for hosting this wonderful giveaway!
I would love to win some seeds! This is my first year gardening so more seeds wouldn’t hurt
Please enter me for another chance to win…thanks for the giveaway : )
I have a small garden in the backyard of my duplex apartment. Last year I didn’t have a lot growing, but this year I hope to add some containers and maybe another raised bed.
We started a community garden at my son’s school. It’s an urban area some of the kids have never seen food grown and can’t identify most of the vegetables. Most of the folks involved don’t have much money to buy seeds. We are trying to get more involvement. Free seeds might get some more hands in the dirt this year. Too many people are convinced they can’t garden. We want to hold their hands & give them a boost. We also have a goal of producing enough to donate to a food pantry.
I would love to win! We have’nt planted a garden in years but due to the cost of fresh veggies and the fact we want to improve our health we decided to get the old tiller out and running again! It will be good for us in many ways. Getting outside and moving, the joy of watching our garden grow and of course the great veggies we can eat, can and freeze!
Please enter me in the seed give away. I’m also ready for the gardening season and warmer weather.
I would love to be entered to win. I’m planning on a huge garden this year so I can dehydrate and can everything I need until the next growing season.
This will be my first year to try to grow enough vegetables to eat all year and not have to buy any at the store. We’re retired, and with times being tough for so many, we hope to preserve for the winter and also have fresh produce to give away. We’ll also be trying mound gardening and planting every 2 weeks as well as hot hoops this fall. We may be grandparents, but we’re not too old to learn and this blog, along with several others, have encouraged us to try to be more efficient users of our soil, time, and resources. Winning these seeds would go a long ways toward helping us accomplish our goals this year.
I would really love to win these! I want to start my own plants this year and this would motivate me to get on it! Thanks!
I am interested in the seed giveaway. We are in the process of selling our ranch and live in an apartment til the sale is finished and we buy our dream ranch. We will not have a garden the first year in the ground due to timing, however, we are planting several hundred planters for our crop this year.
would love to win seeds! We just started gardening and hope to graduate to farming!
We have an all organic hydroponics and traditional garden for our family and friends. Second year gardening and we love the feel of having our own produce. Thanks again for the chance.
I’m in the throes of garden planning for this year. We are trying to grow more than half of our veggies here at home. If only the weather will cooperate….
I would like seeds please. I would say 75% of my yard is planted with edibles. I have raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, a fig, apple, plum and pear tree (dwarf), and 6 beds for veggies 3×8 feet. I also have an herb garden with an arbor for kiwi vines (no fruit yet). There are flowers mixed in here and there for attracting bees. I live on a corner so I have some bushes for privacy, but squeeze in as much as possible. I left a strip of grass for the dogs too.
Shalom,
My garden is full of wonderful creations, a place for spiritual reflection and solitude. Hard work that brings joy to my soul as my Father provides a bounty for my family. It’s full of wonders and with little critters that I get to know, some of which I do not want in my life. Those little critters are a perfect opportunity for me to reflect on things in my own heart that I don’t want to flourish and others that I do. I can’t imagine life without a garden of some sort no matter how large or small it may be. It is a perfect playground for my photography as well. I love to play in my garden!
I LOVE gardening. I moved down south and am having to learn a new way of gardening because of the heat. I do a lot of container gardening, so the free seeds would come in real handy and my husband has tilled us a 50×50 plot I hope to grow some silver queen corn and potatoes in. Who knows maybe next year we will have a bigger garden. I would love it!!!
Oh and I would love to win some seeds in your contest! Can’t grow a garden with out seeds…
We have a garden each year not only to help provide for our family, but to also give to those who are going through a rough time and are in need of food. Winning the seeds would really help in the effort.
I’m a ‘newbie’ when it comes to homesteading/gardening/baking/cooking but I feel confident in claiming I’ve caught on quick. I love dirt! I love getting my hands involved in what I do, whether it be gardening, cooking, or even writing my own blog! I’d love to have a chance at starting my garden a little earlier this year with a new batch of seeds! Gardening is important to healthy living- healthy living is important to me!
Thank you!
Virginia Belle
This will be the second year of real gardening for us; the new chickens got most of our crops last summer and fall. We’re re-designing our garden plots so that this doesn’t happen again. We is my oldest son and I, with the help of whichever of my other children want to help. My son is also planting lots of fruit and nut trees and bushes to turn the lawns into permaculture.
Thank you for having these give-aways, and all else that you share.
Marie-Lynn
my husband and i started our garden 4years ago to offset the cost of food . but i think one of best blessing is that our grandchildren now know where food comes from all 6 like to dig in the dirt with us.thank you for the chance to win the seed package
Sign me up for this round, too, please. Thanks again for doing this!
My herb garden is bountiful and flourishing but I’m a newby to vegetable gardening. We took our family diet entirely organic & mostly grain-free last year to heal my son’s digestive problems & and this year I want to put in a garden to help our budget out & teach my preschoolers about growing our own food. The listed seeds would make the perfect garden for us – most of it we eat regularly and I’m intrigued to look into the possibilities of okra & brassicas! Thanks for the opportunity!
Please enter me for round three. Hope to win. Thank you for hosting the giveaway!
Blessings,
Kerri
I would love a chance to win! I’ve got my composter built and I’m super excited for Spring to show her pretty little face.
Thank you for the chance to win. This will be my first year having a large garden. My husband needs a new kidney, but can’t even get on the transplant list until he loses weight, so we have completely changed how we eat. We eat only what we can grow, buy from a farmer, or buy from an orchard.
Thanks again

How exciting! I would love these seeds. My husband is nearly done building me my raised vegetable garden beds…I will have three 4 x 8 feet beds, and am so excited about this years’ garden! In the past, I just had a small plot in my yard that we turned into a garden space, and had success with that. But now, I am hopeful for even bigger and better things. I live in a climate that is year-round garden-friendly. Happy!
I would love to win these seeds. What a great giveaway!
We are expanding the garden this year with new varieties and are adding more fruit trees to the farm. We are also adding grapes and expanding the chicken area. Thank you for the opportunity to win.
We just bought a home with an acre of land and plan to have a large garden this summer. I often refer to my garden as my sanity patch. This time I want to try the method developed by Paul Gautschi as chronicled in the film Back to Eden. So looking forward to getting my hands dirty!
I would love to win some seeds! I am starting up my garden now, and we live in northern Oregon so we have a while before things really need to get into the ground (plus we have a forecast of snow this week, which probably means sunny weather
. My family is also part of a community food pantry which has a large community garden where we grow and harvest for the food pantry. Any seeds I can’t use in my own yard will be going straight to the community garden, along with my own seed extras.
I just started reading your blog two days ago, and it has been fascinating! Thank you for sharing the last few years of experiences with this community.
What a fantastic opportunity, thank you for the offer, I would love to win!!! I have just recently started to grow herbs and vegee’s. Would love to expand my little garden. Thanks!
My son’s and I would love to start a garden as part of our homeschooling agriculture lesson. We have a very small budget and the seeds would help to offset some of the cost. We plan to grow some for ourselves and share the rest with our neighbors.
Thanks,
Monica
I would love some seeds. This is my second year gardening and I have so much to learn still. I would appreciate the blessing of getting some seeds!
I would love to have vegetable seeds. Because of the mild winter, I’ve been able to grow salad greens all winter and bring them to work. My
colleagues are very grateful for the healthy veggies. Most of what I grow is given away to neighbors or friends as well.
I just love seeds…and gardening…and canning! Hope I win. Thanks for the great give away!
My husband and I have always had a garden we love to garden! It’s alot of work but so rewarding…..Thanks for a chance to win some seeds!

I would love to win the seeds! We plant a large garden every year on our homestead. I can’t help it- some women love a lot of shoes, I love seeds! hehe
We have just purchased a home and I am so excited to get started gardening. My grandmother always had a huge garden and I can’t wait to dig in the dirt. This may sound crazy but I remember walking out to the garden, pulling up a carrot, brushing it off and eating it. Yummy!!! I am so excited. We have just recieved some great rain so this week I will be heading outdoors to get started. Everything tastes so much beetter when you grow it yourself.
Some seeds would be awesome.
I have a 20×30 garden, and would love this assortment of seeds.
Please add my name to the seed give away! Last year I started to can items from the garden and we got chickens. This year I’m looking to expand the garden and look into getting bees.

.

I would love to win these seeds for my daughter.
Love to garden, love to win stuff. Love to promote sites I believe in. Thanks for the chance.
I would LOVE to have the seeds to go in my garden!
I would love to be entered to win the garden seeds. Last year i was able to convince my husband to allow me to take over our small city plot with garden beds…..after years of having a swimming pool he finally agreed. The best thisn about it was the fact that it becae a family activity that got everyone involved. Any time that I can get 3 teenage boys and their little sister working together is time well spent. It was quite an educational experience. Co-planting, crop rotation, natural pest defence we learned what worked and what did not. Sadly after a pretty good season, my kids must have not paid attention when I had told then that I was saving seeds……..one afternoon I was out and came home to find that they had wanted to surpise me by cleaning everything and accidentally tossed the hundreds of seeds I had saved. so this year we are starting over from scatch……winning seeds would be wonderful!
I’d love to win some seeds! Last summer was my return to gardening after years of apartments with no plots. I planted brandywine and cherry tomatoes, lemon thyme, purple basil and yellow squash. The squash got hit hard with white mold and didn’t make it. But, the rest grew very well and enjoyed every moment!
Teaching the kids about what is food and what is pseudo-food. We have a small almost organic garden. Each year I try to add more and am trying to learn about groupings and crop rotation. I have also become more interested in herbs and weeds (the helpful ones of course)! YEAH REAL FOOD!!
I would love to win seeds
We have turned most of our yard into a garden or space for our chickens. We have 3 young boys my oldest is 12 and grew his own tomatoes last year.
would love to try seed’s, new to this preserving thing and this would be great way to learn, thank so much
I would LOVE to win your seeds! I’m going to be moving to the country in 3 weeks!!!! Just in time to get a garden dug and planted for spring! I cannot wait!!!!!!
I have just thought about planting some seeds at the farm.. These would be great!! We are looking for the real food lifestyle. Organic is great!! I would love to be entered to win the garden seeds
We moved to the other side of our state 6 months ago and am very much looking forward to a warmer climate and a bigger garden space to grow our veggies this year. We’ll be able to grow many tomatoes to can for the first time in many years!
Thanks for the opportunity to win some seeds!
Looking forward to planting a garden this year with my 3 year old daughter! Can’t wait to see her enjoy the joys of gardening as much as I do!! It’s a great way to introduce kids to different types of vegetables too, and since they helped grow them the feel more involved and actually look forward to eating them & watching the progression as the seeds grow!
I’ll be happy to throw my name into the hat as I was just thinking of all the seeds I need this year.
Hello well I’m new to being a preppier so I. Can grow vegetables for my naberhood. And my family I would love to win some seeds to grow in the wendow of my apt
